Imago dabbles in furniture
Distributor inks partnership with bespoke furniture firm Benchmark
Sitting pretty:Imago claims Benchmark's furniture is "ergonomic and sustainable"
Video communications specialist Imago Group has added a furniture maker to its portfolio, with a view to boosting revenues from sales of immersive telepresence products.
Ian Vickerage, managing director of Imago, says new parter Benchmark – a bespoke furniture joint-venture of Terence Conran and Sean Sutcliffe – is design-led and has a proven track record in producing furniture for homes, offices and hotels. “We will be making [the furniture] available in a range of wood and finishes,” he said.
Stylish, comfortable, practical furniture would help optimise video conferencing deployments of Polycom ATX telepresence offerings. The custom-built furniture would be “ergonomic and sustainable”, he said.
The joiner uses timber from sustainable sources and boasts a Queen’s Award for Sustainable Development.
“We are installing identical Polycom ATX units with Benchmark in our demo centres in Thatcham, Berkshire, Paris and Eindhoven in Holland,” said Vickerage.
In other news, Imago won Polycom’s top UK distributor award and top video distributor in EMEA for 2009.
