HP named as third Desktop21 supplier

Vendor wins coveted place on government desktop procurement programme

It's a deal: HP is one of three suppliers selected for the Desktop21 framework

HP is one of three suppliers to have signed up to the Desktop21 framework agreement to supply government departments with desktop services.

The Desktop21 agreement was among the first to receive the Office of Government Commerce's new collaborative procurement mark.

It offers preferential access and pricing to all public sector organisations with 1,500 seats or more, or to those prepared to collaborate for a shared service for the same number of seats.

Under the terms of the agreement HP will offer a wide range of products including desktops, laptops, servers and storage devices, as well as associated services such as helpdesk, desktop management and support, email, intranet, software services, authentication, data security and printing.

Craig Wilson, vice president of HP Enterprise Services UK, said: "The UK public sector is looking to aggregate and take advantage of shared, standardised and consumption-based desktop services.

"HP has the portfolio to build leading desktop solutions for our government clients. HP applies the latest technology developments, such as automation, mobility and cloud computing to deliver the right outcomes at the most advantageous price point."

Also signed up to Desktop21 are Atos Origin IT Services and Fujitsu Services.
