Dan brand may survive
Hemini rumoured to be a buyer
Struggling PC supplier Dan Technology looks to be on the verge of being bought.
According to sources close to Dan, which went into voluntary receivership last month and appointed BDO Stoy-Hayward as administrative receiver, the assets and goodwill of the company were to be sold for an unknown sum "within the next few days".
One firm rumoured to be interested was a Hertfordshire-based company called Hemini.
"This means the Dan brand may well continue after the sale, but the company will no longer exist," the source said.
The north London-based firm was set up in 1988 and specialised in building and supplying PCs, software, servers and peripherals to the business, consumer and education sectors.
Earlier this year Dan had announced a management buy-out and the raising of extra capital through a consortium of private investors.
The ongoing credit squeeze has been cited as a major factor in Dan's downfall.
