Micrografx helps firms to make a good impression

Micrografx aims to differentiate itself in the graphics software market with a product aimed at the small firm that wants to make a professional impression. Small Business Graphics and Print Studio offers a suite of integrated programs to produce headed stationery, flyers, mailshots and catalogues, as well as place, view and edit vector graphics for web pages.

David Whitewood, Micro-grafx UK sales and general manager, said: "We have not announced the product to the whole channel yet but we are talking to Inmac, Software Warehouse, Software Paradise and Simply Computers.

I'm afraid that we may be too late for the Christmas market but the product will be available early in the New Year from Byte, PC World, Staples and possibly Game and Electronic Boutique, though the current price of u79 is a bit over their u49 limit."

He said the launch is allowing Micrografx to open up a new sector for graphics software: "Before, people were faced with buying our graphics package or Corel Draw - both of which are much more expensive than Small Business Graphics and not really aimed at the non-expert user."

Micrografx is sending a trial consignment to 100 sites selected by merchandising company Profile.
