Maverick moves Sidwick to European role in management shuffle
AV firm focuses on European expansion and adds sales chief
Jon Sidwick: We now can really focus on delivering excellent customer service and supporting our key vendor strategies
AV distributor Maverick has made changes to its management ranks, including moving Jon Sidwick to directorship of Maverick Europe and replacing him with former Samsung displays chief David Watts.
Sidwick said the company is “now sound and growing strongly”.
“We now can really focus on delivering excellent customer service and supporting our key vendor strategies,” he said.
“We, as a focused specialist not a broad-line vendor collector, expect to see the team working hard to deliver true channel value add through a select set of vendors.”
Watts will be responsible for the entire UK business, including Hotlamps and ScreenExpert.
Watts has built a reputation for developing sales in the displays market, according to Sidwick, and was also previously responsible for the specialist CAD division at Maverick parent company C2000.
Sidwick will also continue working with the UK team, as well as developing pan-European opportunities and vendor relationships.
Sid Stanley has joined Maverick as general sales manager, and will develop channel sales alongside Mark Tildesley. Stanley comes from nine years at Sony, preceded by stints with Pioneer and Plasma Screen Company.
“In addition, his digital signage and LFD knowledge will be invaluable in creating reseller-focused solutions,” Sidwick said.
Recruitment of an additional business manager was underway at the time of writing.
