Iomega launches services offering
Vendor unveils OfficeScreen Managed Service firewall VPN solution
Iomega is attempting to woo resellers by launching its first managed security services offering.
The vendor’s OfficeScreen Managed Service is a firewall VPN solution that Iomega is targeting at the SME sector. According to Esther Bayes, key account manager at Iomega, the vendor will manage the product on behalf of its VARs, allowing them to focus on their core competencies.
“We can run and monitor the box remotely, so our resellers look like real heroes to the end-user,” she said. “This is for firms without an IT department, which is usually sub-100 seats, although it does scale up to 500 seats.”
Bayes denied the vendor was late to market with the services offering. “Lots of firms say they offer SME security managed services, but they do not offer full 24 hour, 365 days a year monitoring like we do,” she said.
Iomega has partnered with Juniper for the hardware, Kaspersky for the software and SurfControl for the web filtering.
