UK monitor market shows steady growth
More than 1.5 million monitors were shipped in the UK during Q3
The UK monitor market has kept a steady rate of growth for the third quarter of 2006, although the value of the market has declined, according to the latest figures from analyst firm Context.
Figures released by the analyst revealed that 1.6 million monitors were shipped in the UK during Q3, compared with 1.4 million for the same period in 2005. The UK market was worth $398m in Q3, compared with $419m in 2005.
Leading the pack in terms of volume sales was Dell, followed by Acer, Samsung and Sony.
One of the fastest-growing vendors was ViewSonic, which achieved eighth position in the top 10 EMEA visual display vendors.
Mel Taylor, vice-president of marketing at ViewSonic, said: “With the market moving to bigger [screen] sizes, ViewSonic holds an ideal position to move further up the scale in the LCD market.”
