MS wraps up SME bundle

Vendor aims to increase CRM software sales

Microsoft is offering an SME bundle through the channel in a bid to boost CRM software sales.

SMEs that buy or upgrade to Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2003 Premium Edition could get up to an 80 per cent discount on up to five licences of Microsoft Business Solutions CRM 1.2 Sales Standard Edition.

They could also get up to a 50 per cent cut on up to five licences of Microsoft Business Solutions CRM 1.2 Sales Module Edition.

Michala Alexander, business solutions CRM product manager at Microsoft, said the deal will run until September. Universities, local government and finance firms are using the software.

Resellers are putting together special deals based on the software, offering fixed-price deals for implementation with money-back guarantees, Alexander said.

Justin Harling, managing director of VAR Cae, said: "The big question for us is: will it drive business? The CRM market is overcrowded, but we've seen the CRM 1.2 product and it is a great platform for building on."
