Arrow ECS and ISI have the Power

Distributors signed by IBM to supply its Power range to respective reseller bases

Who's got the Power? Arrow ECS and ISI now have the Power

IBM has swelled its Power product distribution line-up in the UK with the appointment of Arrow ECS and ISI.

Both distribution partnerships will be effective from 1 October, with Arrow ECS supplying IBM’s Power with AIX Systems, and ISI (part of SDG) supplying IBM’s Power with AIX and XIV Systems.

Ian Jeffs, distribution and volume business leader at IBM, said: “We’re pleased to be extending our relationships with Arrow ECS and ISI. This step is especially timely given the August announcement of the third wave of new Power Systems offerings based on Power7 technology.

“Together with our other distributors and resellers, ISI and Arrow ECS will help IBM customers address the critical IT infrastructure challenges they face today.”

Steve Pearce, managing director of Arrow ECS UK, said: “This is the final key element that completes our IBM infrastructure portfolio and enables us to offer total end-to-end IBM solutions. We will now be able to demonstrate to our resellers how IBM’s Power Systems can be combined with virtualisation, storage and software technology to create highly scaleable and resilient datacentre platforms and drive IT consolidation projects.”

Rob Tomlin, who runs ISI, said: “Today, it is all about selling infrastructure solutions that meet a customer’s business need. Through extending our IBM capability, as a specialist distributor of Power systems and high-end storage, we can further support and enable our business partners.

“Our long-standing strategy is to make it easier for the full spectrum of resellers to access complete solutions, based on IBM technologies, now enhanced with Power 7, combined with specialist infrastructure services capability, delivered as and when the end user demands it,” he said.
