FutureLink hooks up with Ericsson

Specialist connectivity and server distributor FutureLink is partnering with Ericsson to give its 400 reseller partners increased wireless portfolios.

The partnership allows for the distribution of Ericsson's product range and includes wireless local area network, voice and video over IP equipment and services. It will be available from March.

Sonny Sagal, technical director at reseller Transputec, told Computer Reseller News: "The deal will bring a good range of products to FutureLink and will enable smaller resellers to access Ericsson products."

FutureLink is targeting its current resellers and is also recruiting additional partners. "Our main drive is to grow the business with our current reseller base, but we will take on new partners," said Yuri Pasea, managing director of FutureLink Europe.

Fredric Boone, director of marketing at Ericsson, said that last year the company had made a decision to use the channel because it was difficult to go direct to the small to medium sized enterprise market.

"With FutureLink we will be able to offer the mutual building blocks needed to provide the services and take it to market," he said.

FutureLink can now provide its reseller partners the opportunity to offer mobile video conferencing via its hosted service, with a combination of Ericsson's mobile technology and its own voice, video and data over IP offering.

Resellers can make continuous commissions on all meetings hosted for their customers and can sell the hardware required for the meetings.
