Cisco manager crosses channel divide

Ian Hearn takes head of sales post at Networks First

Hearn has been given the task of growing Networks First's partner base

One of Cisco’s channel heads has switched from gamekeeper to poacher after leaving the vendor to take up a post at channel services firm Networks First.

Ian Hearn joins as head of sales directly from Cisco, where as channel services manager he looked after the vendor’s shared support partners – including his new employer.

Hearn replaces David Lisher, who exited Networks First at the start of the year to join reseller Neptune Consultancy in a joint venture between the two firms.

Hearn has been given the task of actively growing the firm's partner base.

Networks First managing director Sara Gemmell said: “Ian has always told us we are the most reputable services partner Cisco has.

"I am sure he will be repeating that to potential new partners.”

Gemmell, who took the reins in the autumn with the aim of growing Networks First’s turnover beyond the £10m mark, said that Hearn would also help raise Networks First’s profile within Cisco.
