C2000 to fill product role
Computer 2000 is casting its net in search of a product marketing director to fill the gap left by Allan Mack's departure earlier this year.
Mack, who was deputy MD at C2000 before taking up the post of MD of networking specialist Ilion in July, was responsible for the distributor's product marketing activities. The role remained unfilled following the departure of Julian Klien, commercial director at C2000, who left to join Apple as channel director. The product marketing responsibilities are now being carried out by various directors within C2000, but the company wants the role to be handled by one dedicated person.
According to company sources, C2000 has been interviewing internal and external candidates. One potential candidate has been named as Edwin Binder of C2000's parent company in Germany.
One source said: 'The product marketing role is crucial for a distributor as this is where all the relationships are built on between companies.'
A representative at C2000 confirmed the distributor was looking for a product marketing director, but claimed the appointment would not be made by the end of the year.
