Kaspersky unveils MS ISA support
Security vendor supports both editions of Microsoft's ISA server
Security vendor Kaspersky Labs has claimed it is the first anti-virus vendor to support both the Standard and Enterprise editions of Microsoft’s Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server.
The vendor, which unveiled its Anti-Virus 5.5 for Microsoft ISA Server 2004 Standard Edition last week, claimed its channel partners will benefit from the launch.
Simon Geach, UK and Ireland channel manager at Kaspersky Labs, said: “With our partner programme, the breadth of the product range that we provide allows our resellers to offer a varying range of solutions that can secure all points of the network. We were the first company to launch an Enterprise ISA product, and now we are the first for the Standard edition.
“There are certain vendors that don’t have the solutions for these parts of the network, which leaves their resellers with a gap in their portfolio. This is something our partners don’t have to worry about.”
Alan Reid, managing director of distributor Sentryst, said: “The more points of possible entry that are protected, the better. With the speed of response Kaspersky gives new threats compared with some of the other major players, it could make a huge difference to the larger network users.”
Reid added that Kaspersky is becoming a standard on security devices because of the speed with which it can release patterns for new threats.
