Maverick ups web site sales
Distributor Maverick is looking to boost its internet sales with the launch last week of exclusive web offers on its e-business portal.
Jon Sidwick, Maverick managing director, told CRN: “Our e-business portal has been steadily growing since we launched it two years ago, but we wanted to give it an extra boost. The special web-only offers are on end-of-line and graded stock; we’ll also use this section to sell slow-moving stock.”
“It was only launched last week and we’ve already signed 100 new customers to the site,” added Sidwick.
Maverick is offering free delivery on web orders for a limited period.
Andrew Smith, senior associate at AV analyst Sandy Brown Associates, said: “Maverick is focusing a lot of effort and financial resources into its e-commerce web site, which will benefit the smaller dealers most as they will be able to place and process orders at the end of the day when the phone has stopped ringing. I have no doubt other distributors will follow suit.”
