Yosemite ready to sign more VARs

Backup vendor claims its desire to work with partners in SME sector is 'very strong'

Backup vendor Yosemite Technologies wants to sign 20 additional UK VARs to strengthen its UK footprint.

The vendor claimed that it will recruit 10 VARs by the end of the year and the remaining 10 by August 2007.

Jim Lee, director of marketing at Yosemite, told CRN: “We want to provide our partners with demand creation and deal registration. Our desire to work with partners in the SME sector is very strong.”

The vendor claimed its software will help to open up sales opportunities for additional channel partners, and that its VAR expansion will encourage some of its existing SME resellers to develop a wider market focus.

Yosemite already has an established partner programme in the UK. It has two partner levels – Authorised and Premier – and is operated through its sole UK distributor SoftAssure (CRN, 29 March 2005).

Distributor CMS Peripherals previously had a distribution relationship with Yosemite, but that relationship has since come to an end.

Mark Price, publisher relations manager at Premier Yosemite reseller QBS Software, told CRN: “[Signing 20 VARs] is an achievable number, but there is always the risk of quantity versus quality. However, I am sure that Yosemite has done its homework.”
