GN Netcom to boost its partner numbers

Headset vendor launches plans to match market leader Plantronics

Headset vendor GN Netcom has pledged to double its tally of business development managers to help its resellers grab more business.

The vendor is hoping to boost its reseller network from 850 to more than 1,000 this year as part of a plan to dislodge Plantronics as the UK’s top headset vendor.

GN Netcom's sales director, Andrew Doyle, indicated that his company was adding four new recruits to its stable of five business development managers. He said: “Resellers want to bring a vendor to end users. This is where our business development managers come into their own.”

GN Netcom recently announced it has given out more than £100,000 in rewards. Dale Peters, GN's UK managing director, said: “Partners' rewards get put onto a Visa debit card and people have really taken to this.”
Peters said his company had a mix of IT and telecoms resellers.

“As everything moves to IP, you will see the convergence of voice and IT in much the same way that hardware and networking have merged.”
Peters predicted the headset market would continue to grow 20 per cent year on year and was confident his company could soon become the UK's leading vendor.

Neil Watson, channel marketing manager for Plantronics, said: “We welcome the chase as competition is healthy for the market.

“There is nothing in our plans that sees us doing anything other than cementing our place. But both Plantronics and GN would be foolish to think that nobody else can take part in this market.”
