McCabe?s exit leaves big gap at Sphinx CST
Sphinx CST sales and marketing director Anita McCabe has resigned from the distributor, five months after the software and hardware arms were merged into one.
In December 1996, parent company Lynx Holdings merged the software distribution arm of Sphinx Level V with CST, its hardware subsidiary.
McCabe said: ?I?ve been with the business for about five years now. I was involved during the acquisition and have been involved as the company continues to grow.
?There?s no malice, I rate the company. I just feel it is time to move on and develop my career.? She added she was not moving to another job, but would look around in June.
Terry MacDonald, vice chairman of Sphinx CST, said: ?Anita?s ability and contribution to the business have been second to none. We tried to persuade her to stay and failed. She will be greatly missed.? He added that there were no immediate plans to replace her.
Other industry sources claimed there had been tension about the blending of the management cultures of Sphinx and CST.
Lynette Summerfield, general manager at Persona, said: ?The fact it can?t hold on to Anita is indicative of the state of Sphinx CST. She?ll be a big loss.? She cited the loss of accounts such as Specialix and Netscape.
Chris Coan, sales director at Cognos, said: ?The managing style and competencies of people on the new board is not conducive to Anita?s personality. She is a very dynamic individual, whereas the board now manages by consensus.?<{>
