Northgate celebrates Holland breakthrough

Reseller awarded exclusive rights to develop and market its Northgate Housing solution for NCCW

VAR Northgate Information Solutions has celebrated another strong week by extending its reach to the Netherlands in a £1.5m deal.

The firm revealed last week that it has awarded Dutch company NCCW the exclusive rights to develop and market its in-house-developed Northgate Housing solution in Holland.

NCCW is planning to migrate up to 70 housing associations covering 600,000 properties to the solution over the next 10 years.

Dave Meaden, managing director of Northgate Public Services, said: “We are delighted to continue our relationship with NCCW and to support it in its goal of delivering a continuously improving service to its customers. The agreement will allow Northgate’s Housing solution to better serve the needs of social housing providers in the Netherlands.”

Separately, Northgate Information Solutions is also involved in a PDA roll-out with the British Transport Police (BTP) in partnership with mobile-data specialist Beat Systems.

Last week it was revealed that more than 400 BTP officers have already received their PDAs to help them carry out mobile criminal checks on the London Underground system.

By next month, every officer in BTP’s Reassurance teams will be able to use a PDA to obtain an instant check on a person’s criminal history and share information gathered by other officers.

Paul Crowther, chief superintendent at BTP, said: “The PDA is a robust addition to our crime-fighting kit. It allows us to better drill down into criminal activity.”

John Strutton, crime and disorder partnership manager at London Underground, said: “Transport for London has funded 200 extra BTP officers over the past two years and this initiative is another demonstration of the effort put into maintaining a safe and secure underground system.”
