HP to acquire Trustgenix
Vendor plans to integrate latest acquisition into OpenView portfolio
Hewlett-Packard (HP) has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Trustgenix, a provider of federated indentity management software.
Once the acquisition has closed, which is believed to be in the next 30 days, the vendor plans to integrate Trustgenix and its software into the HP OpenView management software portfolio. HP claims the acquisition will allow HP to extend the federation capabilities of OpenView and enable enterprise customers to help their business partners secure access to information residing on different systems.
The deal builds on HP’s recent acquisitions of firms such as AppIQ and Peregrine Systems.
Todd DeLaughter, vice president OpenView business unit at HP said: “Identity federation appeals strongly to companies in the telecommunications, financial services, manufacturing and government industries. Adding Trustgenix solutions to OpenView will bolster our efforts to help customers securely and quickly expand their enterprises to include business partners.”
Atul Tulshibagwale, chief executive of Trustgenix said: “We are proud to be joining HP, where we can extend Trustgenix technologies to HP’s enterprise customer base and allow our products and team to realise their full potential.”
