Hammer signs Sepaton agreement
Storage distributor joins forces with virtual tape library vendor
Specialist storage distributor Hammer has signed an agreement to become the sole UK distributor for virtual tape library (VTL) vendor Sepaton.
Hammer will help the vendor establish a VAR channel and grow its UK market footprint for both its low-end and its enterprise-level products.
Jason Beeson, sales director for the solution division at Hammer, told CRN: “The whole VTL market is growing for us. We already sell products from other vendors, but this is a very specific range of products that are more focused to the market.
“Sepaton is one of the relatively newer players in the UK. It seems to be making the most noise and going up against the bigger players.”
Christo Conidaris, sales director for EMEA at Sepaton, said: “Hammer has a very strong storage focus as a business, which is essential for us. It has experts within the business that have sold tape backup for many years, and it sells products from Symantec and QLogic, which allows us to get right into that business.
“What Hammer is also going to do is create leads for us and get us in with a lot of resellers. This will give us the ability to open up another tier in the market.”
