Imprivata VARs set for converged security revenue boost
Vendor claims its latest device can guarantee differentiation in the marketplace
Authentication vendor Imprivata has claimed its converged security offering will ramp up VARs’ revenue by allowing them to manage both the physical and network security of their customers.
The vendor, which specialises in single sign-on technology, has launched its Imprivata OneSign Physical/Logical device, which enables firms to issue each employee with just one card for both physical access to a building, and access to the company network and applications via a PC or laptop.
Omar Hussain, chief executive of Imprivata, said: “This is a new area of opportunity for our channel partners. Until now the physical security world had a different set of channels to the network side of things, but this gives resellers more dollars to go after by being able to cater for both ends of the market.”
Physical/Logical also allows firms to check user credentials from disparate networks, such as when staff are working remotely.
Hussain said the device can cater for firms of all sizes, but Imprivata is seeing particular success in regulated industries such as healthcare and the public sector.
“We can also guarantee our resellers differentiation in the marketplace, because we are the first vendor to figure out how to do this at a system level,” he claimed.
Mike Nelsey, managing director of Enline, which has been working with Imprivata on several pilot implementations, told CRN: “We are talking to customers with high-value information or security. Physical/Logical gives customers a level of security that they have not seen before.”
