Audinate opens office in European expansion
UK office to lead drive to boost sales of specialist audio transmission technology
Specialist AV products are increasingly moving through the channel as areas converge
Australian digital media specialist Audinate has launched a European operation, spearheaded from an office in the UK.
Lee Ellison, chief executive officer at Audinate, told CRN that its strategy is to offer its Dante audio transmission technology through channel partners across Europe.
“Our OEM partners typically sell their products through various VARs, integrators, and distributors. Audinate also tries to work closely with these integrators to provide support and a better understanding of the convergence occurring in the AV and IT world,” Ellison said.
Dante is IP over Ethernet based and can transmit uncompressed, accurate digital media via many high-bandwidth channels with a view to the professional AV transition from analogue to digital networking, according to the vendor.
“Audinate has developed a next generation media networking technology that transports tightly synchronised uncompressed audio with ultra low latency,” Ellison said. “We have been integrated by a broad range of OEM companies.”
It has hired Kieran Walsh from audio rental firm Britannia Row as senior Europe technical solutions manager.
