Kaspersky revs up brand with Ferrari F1 deal
Anti-virus vendor's logo will feature on Ferrari Formula One cars from next season
Kaspersky Lab partners are set to benefit from a branding boost after the anti-virus vendor unveiled a two-year sponsorship agreement with Formula One team Scuderia Ferrari.
The deal will see the Kaspersky Lab logo feature on Ferrari’s cars from next season.
Kaspersky sponsored the Ferrari AF Corse racing team for the Le Mans Series Championship this year and chief executive Eugene Kaspersky said it was logical to shift up to F1.
“When we do something at Kaspersky Lab we are always striving to do it better than anyone else and, most importantly, we do it differently.
“If we invest in brand development, we will only do so with those brands that share the same values as us, which means they must be innovators, leaders, with a commitment to quality and a constant desire to succeed. So we are thrilled to become a partner of Ferrari – the world's most lauded Formula One team.”
The vendor also sought to draw a comparison between its founder and Ferrari doyen Enzo Ferrari.
“The two companies are closely connected by the notion of speed – Ferrari makes some of the world's fastest cars, while Kaspersky Lab ensures the fastest outbreak response times to malicious programs. And both companies are leaders in their respective fields,” it said.
