Overland's SAN kit a hit

Storage vendor's partners welcome latest additon to its SAN portfolio

Andy Walsky: Modular design and green features are popular with partners

The channel has given the latest addition to Overland Storage’s SAN portfolio a thumbs up.

The storage vendor unveiled its SME-focused SnapSAN S1000 device to the channel at last month’s IP Expo event in London.

Andy Walsky, vice president of EMEA sales and marketing at Overland, cited the product’s modular design and green credentials as key selling points for partners.

“Making the product modular provides end users with a greater choice of connectivity options, including iSCSI and fibre channel,” he said.

“The green aspect is increasingly important for end users. As data volumes grow, so does the amount of energy needed.”

Paul Hickingbotham, solutions manager at Overland distributor Hammer, added: “The SnapSAN S1000’s flexible connectivity and capacity options make it an ideal platform for virtualised environments and its price point ensures it will be an attractive proposition for the widest possible market.”
