EntaTech signs up as Gateway storage and server distributor
After long wait, hardware vendor recruits second distribution partner in a week
Hardware and systems vendor Gateway has signed its second distributor inside a week after agreeing a partnership with EntaTech.
Last week, the Acer-owned vendor signed a distribution deal with Microtronica. EntaTech has now also been recruited to distribute Gateway's storage and server wares. The storage portfolio incorporates technology from specialist vendor Hitachi Data Systems (HDS).
The Telford-based distributor indicated it is currently deciding on a stable of suitable partners who will be offered vertically focused offerings pitched at the mid-market arena.
Jon Atherton (above), EntaTech's commercial group vice president, said: "We have been searching for a suitable manufacturer who can offer server solutions which are flexible to our customer needs, Gateway offer great margin opportunities for our resellers whilst maintaining high quality standards, we are launching with server but plan to introduce other products from Gateways range in the near future"
The brace of distribution signings mark the belated fulfillment of the vendor's channel recruitment plans. In March, Gateway claimed two distributors would be signed up imminently to support its plans to recruit 1,000 resellers in the UK.
Nathan Knight, UK country head at Gateway, said: "We are very pleased to offer the joint Gateway/HDS storage solutions to the channel through EntaTech. Gateway Storage delivers the very best of the HDS enterprise-class storage through a value-driven portfolio to the SMB and mid-market, we expect EntaTech 's dealer community to respond very well to a new point of difference in the storage space."
