Westcoast launches Windows 7 TCO calculator

Tool provides information on savings end users could make by adopting Windows 7

Westcoast has teamed up with HP and Microsoft to create a Windows 7 Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) calculator.

The tool, available to resellers via Westcoast’s Windows 7 SmartSite, allows users to provide detailed information about their current situation and then provides an indication of the savings they could make by adopting Windows 7.

Resellers can gain access to the SmartSite for a one-off fee of £250.

Developed by Consenna, the calculator includes information on the total cost of ownership compared with previous operating systems, return on investment and a migration plan.

It also provides suggestions for recommended Windows 7 desktops and notebooks and provides information on the different Windows 7 editions.

Ben Feurtado, Microsoft business manager at Westcoast, said: “I am really pleased that we are able to offer this calculator for our customers to use. The Windows 7 calculator is easy to use and really comprehensive. It will prove a useful tool for encouraging consumers to adopt Windows 7.”
