Astaro nabs former WatchGuard boss for UK push

Vinod Chamdal to head up UTM vendor's UK operations following Andrew Fourie's departure

Germany-based unified threat management (UTM) vendor Astaro has primed the UK as a “strategic growth region” after appointing a new sales director for the region.

Following the departure of Andrew Fourie, former WatchGuard executive Vinod Chamdal has stepped into the role of UK sales director.

Chamdal, who was UK sales director at WatchGuard, said: “The additions we have made to our core product offering have allowed our partners to offer a more comprehensive security solution than ever before.

"As well as helping them win business, we are seeing a steep incline in organisations that want to be part of the Astaro partner programme.”

Astaro recently expanded its product range and Astaro chief executive Jan Hichert said this was already bearing fruit in the UK.

“The UK is a key strategic region for Astaro’s future growth and the appointment of Vinod underlines our commitment to the region,” he added.
