MTI celebrates Vblock pre-sales success

Integrator hails VCE involvement for 50 per cent rise in orders during September

Systems integrator MTI claims its involvement with the Virtual Computing Environment (VCE) coalition has led to a steep rise in orders.

The Surrey-based firm's September figures revealed a 50 per cent year-on-year increase in orders in the UK, as well as 15 per cent growth over the same period for its French and German operations.

The company also claims to have clocked up orders worth more than $1m (£644,000) for Cisco's Nexus and unified communications platform during September.

MTI has attributed its pre-sales success to the demand from customers for its Vblock packages, which allow users to deploy private clouds.

The packages are created using technology from all three members of the VCE coalition, which include VMware, Cisco and EMC.

Ian Parslow, vice president of sales for the UK and Ireland at MTI, said: "MTI's focus on Cisco, EMC and VMware and our strong experience and certification with these vendors is resonating with customers.

"We are seeing demand from enterprise customers and service providers, which is driving our business performance and enabling us to aggressively hire new staff in the UK."
