Amscreen offloads M2M business arm
Digital signage vendor sells off data monitoring arm to supply partner
Digital signage provider Amscreen has offloaded its Machine-to-Machine (M2M) data monitoring arm to long-standing supply partner Brulines.
Amscreen M2M specialises in the development of data collection and monitoring tools delivered via the internet and mobile networks.
The deal will see Brulines, which provides real-time data management services to the leisure industry, acquire all of M2M's intellectual property and an unspecified number of its staff.
The vendor said selling up would allow it to concentrate on the development of its media business, which currently supplies more than 3,000 digital advertising screens to retail outlets across the UK.
Simon Sugar, chief executive of Amscreen, said: "We are delighted to announce this deal, which enables us to streamline our operations and fully focus on being purely a media business which was always our long-term objective when we started the company."
