Architects grin at Bear IT
VAR digs up roads and braves red tape to install new networked data storage and recovery system
Fast-growing VAR Bear IT has completed a complex contract to overhaul the technology systems at architectural firm Maber Associates.
The deal, for an undisclosed sum, saw the firm install a fully networked data storage and recovery system at the Maber sites in Nottingham, Leicester and Derby.
It will enable the company to improve data sharing and flexibility of resources across its business sites. Mark Lambert, managing director of Bear IT, said: “This is one of our biggest projects to date and required us to work closely with Maber to ensure we achieved the best solutions for the company.
“We worked connectivity between all three sites, allowing the company to improve communication and backup between offices. It was a major undertaking – and involved permission to dig up roads and co-ordinating new cabling in tenanted and listed buildings,” he added.
Nick Keightley, director of Maber Associates, said: “The new network and systems give the practice the improved functionality, capacity and flexibility we need to keep improving our service to clients."
