PSCo inks deal on flexible LED screens

New flexible NanoLumens LED displays offered to UK, Ireland channel

Big-screen and videowall specialist PSCo has signed up to launch a range of flexible LED screens from US-based NanoLumens.

Stuart Holmes, managing director at PSCo, said the screens are flexible, thin, lightweight and "extremely" efficient consumers of electricity.

"NanoLumens is one of the most exciting technologies I have seen for years. We are delighted to be distributing the screen in the UK and Ireland and forging new verticals for LED," he said.

"The screens can be positioned in locations that would have previously been out of bounds for flat-screen displays. At just 41kg, this is a product that keeps infrastructure costs to a minimum, while delivering a very bright, high-quality display."

The displays can be curved in convex or concave formations, flexed around walls and wrapped around large columns. They can be hung from ceilings, with very little infrastructure, and be used where large, heavy and fragile flat panels are impractical to install or unlikely to work.

PSCo is starting off with a 112in screen for indoor or outdoor use. In the longer term it will be possible to customise the products to any size or shape, said Holmes.

John Wilson, president of NanoLumens, said PSCo had strong routes to market in the rental, broadcast, digital signage, corporate and retail sectors - all areas that the technology targets.

"PSCo offers a highly technical knowledge base and in-house servicing department, enabling the same level of support for pre-sales and post-sales care that we can offer on home soil in the US," said Wilson.
