Equanet adds Extricom to networking portfolio
Dixons-owned VAR boosts comms offering after dropping down the Cisco hierarchy
Reseller Equanet has boosted its networking portfolio with the addition of WLAN player Extricom.
The vendor is hoping the latest addition to its partner fold will help it build on its success in the education space by branching into new verticals. Extricom chief executive Gideon Rottem claimed Equanet's services nous would also be beneficial to his firm's growth plans.
"Extricom's strategic alliance with Equanet will provide both companies with exciting opportunities in the mobility arena", he said. "Equanet's professional services and distribution business elements will enable Extricom to drive high performance WLAN implementations to all markets."
Equanet managing director Phil Birbeck added: "The alliance with Extricom plays to the strength of both companies, and creates a compelling offering in a rapidly evolving market. Our capability in technology logistics and solutions development, and Extricom's leading-edge technology, will bring real value to our clients."
The VAR, which is the business-to-business arm of Dixons Retail, also stocks networking gear from 3Com, D-Link and Netgear. Equanet maintains a partnership with Cisco, although the last 18 months have seen its accreditation level fall two notches from Silver to Select.
