AVM intensifies push for managed video services

Expansion of global integrator partnership with AVI-SPI to include video-based managed services

Integrator Audio Visual Machines (AVM) has expanded its relationship with Florida solution provider AVI-SPL to include joint delivery of managed video services.

Sandy MacPherson, chairman of AVM, said the Twickenham integrator was seeing more opportunities around large deployments of video spread across multiple countries. The deal is under the auspices of AVM's 26-member AV Global Alliance project for AV integration development.

"Our customers want the benefit of getting services from the best providers in each region, while working with one vendor to make it happen. We believe this expansion of our AV Global Alliance represents a unique capability customers have been waiting for," he said.

Mike Brandofino, executive vice president of video and unified communications at AVI-SPL, said: "Videoconferencing has become mission-critical for many of our clients. They are demanding a 24/7, always-on, highly reliable service that allows them to focus on their business and not on the technology."

AVM and AVI-SPL will combine their capabilities and infrastructure in the US and Europe, to deliver "seamless" managed video services to customers of both companies, using service centres in New Jersey, California, Pennsylvania, and London, and video bridging infrastructure at eight points of presence.

The combined services will also enable both companies to expand the range of languages supported for multi-national customers, according to AVM.
