Redstor toasts 2010 success
Cloud storage provider claims sales went up 20 per cent in 2010
Cloud storage provider Redstor claims its performance during 2010 has made this year one of its most successful to date.
The company, which was founded 12 years ago, has reported a 20 per cent rise in sales and seen its recurring income rise by 14 per cent over the past 12 months.
It has attributed its success to the growing popularity of cloud-based services and its contract wins in the education sector.
For example, the company claims its online backup service is used by 85 local authorities, as well as half of the schools in England and Wales.
Tony Ruane, business development director of Redstor, said its success proves how lucrative the cloud can be for the channel.
He said: "With all the concerns about whether the channel can survive in the cloud, we have demonstrated that resellers can benefit by providing them with clear collateral, SLAs and allowing them to white-label."
As for the year ahead, Ruane said Redstor will focus on expanding its cloud services portfolio and its reach into the channel.
He added: "We aim to remain partner friendly and help them develop cloud services and repeatable income by using our platform with little capital outlay and risk."
