Trade bodies unveil storage education push
CompTIA and SNIA to launch joint storage certification later this year
Trade body CompTIA is joining forces with the Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) to launch a certification for IT workers.
The aim of the accreditation is to provide IT staff with a globally recognised validation of their skills and expertise in data storage and networking.
Terry Erdle, executive vice president of skills certification at CompTIA, said: "Combining the technical leadership of SNIA with the global management capabilities of CompTIA will result in a credential recognised globally as the standard for validating IT professionals in data storage."
The certification, known as CompTIA Storage + Powered by SNIA, will be undergo a trial during the second quarter of 2011 prior to its global rollout during the second half of this year.
Wayne Adams, chairman of SNIA's board of directors, added: "This credential will provide an excellent programme for IT professionals to advance their career."
