Bird flies SonicWall nest
SonicWall's former EMEA vice president Keith Bird unveiled as new boss of e-commerce platform start-up eSellerPro
Keith Bird has ended his three-year stint as SonicWall EMEA vice president to join e-commerce platform start-up eSellerPro.
Founded in 2006, eSellerPro landed a £2m VC injection from Notion Capital last September and has tasked Bird (pictured) to drive its US and European growth.
The firm's e-commerce management system is designed to integrate the online sales process.
Bird joined SonicWall in 2005 as UK and Northern European managing director, before taking the EMEA reins in 2007. Before that he was at Extreme Networks. He claimed he is well placed to grow his new venture.
“Coming from SonicWall I am used to fast-growth businesses, but this is something else,” Bird said. “ESellerPro is already handling more than £500,000 in transactions every day and there is strong demand from customers all over the world.”
Ben White, co-founder of Notion Capital, said: “As the online retail market explodes, retailers now have the ability to get in front of a much larger customer base.
“Although fantastic in terms of potential sales, it creates a real management challenge which is why we are very excited to have Keith on board as his experience in managing fast-growing companies will be invaluable.”
SonicWall vice president of worldwide sales Marvin Blough said: "We'd like to thank Keith for his contributions to SonicWall's success over the past five years and wish him all the very best in his new role.
