Micro-P nears £500m sales after stellar FY10

Distributor posts impressive top- and bottom-line growth

Distributor Micro Peripherals enjoyed a stellar 2010 fiscal year, with sales up almost a quarter and pre-tax profit more than trebling.

Numbers recently filed with Companies House reveal the firm's revenue for the year to 31 March 2010 rose 24 per cent annually to £476m. Pre-tax profit grew from £2.1m in FY09 to £6.6m last year. The Accrington-based distributor's staff numbers were also on the up in FY10, rising from 380 to 407.

The directors' report for the year stressed that the distributor's top objective had been "the maximisation of profit".

"The directors are pleased with this performance achieved in tough market conditions," added the report. "In the current financial year, the group is focused on further profit growth in existing channels, while broadening our product and utilising the financial strength of our balance sheet to further strengthen our market position."
