ARM welcomes new boardroom recruits

Vendor reshuffle sees three new members appointed as it looks to growth

ARM has expanded its board with the appointment of three new non-executive directors.

Janice Roberts and Larry Hirst will join the board on 25 January 2011 and Andy Green will join on 25 February.

Roberts has been managing director of Mayfield Fund since 2000 and has also held various positions at 3Com. She will serve on ARM’s audit committee.

Hirst is the former chairman of IBM EMEA and had worked at the company since 1977. He is also a Commissioner at the UK Government’s Commission for Employment and Skills, and chairman of the UK Trade and Investment Executive Board. He will serve on the firm’s audit and renumeration committee.

Green has been chief executive of Logica since 2008 and has also worked as chief executive at BT Global Services and BT Openworld. He is also chairman of e-skills UK. He will serve on the renumeration committee.

Other changes include the retirement of Jeremy Scudamore at the end of January, with his position as senior independent director being filled by Kathleen O’Donovan.

Doug Dunn, chairman of the ARM board, said: "I am delighted to welcome Janice Roberts, Larry Hirst and Andy Green to the ARM board and look forward to the benefit of their highly relevant industry experience.

“These appointments complete our exercise to refresh the independent non-executive director representation on the board and provide succession for John Scarisbrick who, as previously announced, will be retiring at the AGM on 14 May 2011 having been a director since 2001.

“I would also like to take this opportunity of thanking Jeremy Scudamore on behalf of the board for the respected counsel and incisive contribution he has made as an independent non-executive director and senior independent director of ARM over the past six years, and to wish him well for the future."
