Midwich to distribute Toshiba camcorders

Camcorders added to rapidly growing consumer portfolio

Midwich has extended its audiovisual portfolio by adding a supplier agreement with Toshiba's imaging division.

Alistair Coyne, digital imaging product manager at Midwich, said the distributor would offer Toshiba's Camileo consumer camcorders with flash memory supporting full HD.

"We will be working very closely with Toshiba to target new and incremental customers and grow their customer base in new vertical markets," Coyne said.

Mark Reynolds, distribution sales manager at Toshiba, said the deal builds on Midwich's existing arrangement with the vendor.

"With Midwich’s specialist sales team and its ability to undertake focused activity to specific markets, Toshiba sees an excellent opportunity," Reynolds said.

According to Coyne, Midwich is set to renew its focus on the digital imaging market this year. It recently appointed a new product manager for the division.
