Computacenter unveils cloud vision
Reseller giant branches into cloud-based email management
Corporate VAR Computacenter has made its first move into the cloud by launching a web-based email management service based on the Microsoft Exchange 2011 platform.
The C3Mail service is the first to be launched under the London-listed giant's Computacenter Cloud Computing (C3) initiative.
Through it, Computacenter aims to save end users money by assuming responsibility for the infrastructure, security and administration of their email systems.
Neil Muller, director of services and solutions at Computacenter, said the release is the first of several cloud-based products it plans to roll out this year.
"We understand that organisations do not want to move all their IT to the cloud at once, so our C3 approach is about working alongside companies to develop a step-by-step plan for blended IT service delivery," he said.
"C3Mail is the first step in our cloud offering and will be followed by collaboration and virtual desktop services later in the year."
