Civica fights fraud in Durham
VAR wins five-year contract to streamline council's benefits processing systems
Civica has secured a five-year, £1m contract to streamline the benefits processing systems at Durham County Council.
The local authority, which caters for half a million people in the North East, has selected Civica OpenRevenues and Civica Fraud as part of its cost-saving strategy. The council will also implement Civica’s EDM and fraud case management modules to help its staff better manage workloads.
Ian Ferguson, head of revenues and benefits for Durham County Council, said: “Two key objectives from the procurement process were to secure a partner who could not only provide a best value software product, but also give us substantial longer-term cost savings and service delivery improvements across the organisation. We believe the Civica OpenRevenues system will allow us to meet those objectives.”
Bill Loughrey, managing director of Civica Revenues and Benefits, added: “The management team at Durham selected Civica following an extensive tender process which demanded proof of best value, along with both short- and long-term cost-saving benchmarks and service delivery objectives. This highlights our ability to support customers with high-quality products and services that deliver clear results.”
