Azzurri bags £5m UC deal
Integrator wins three-year deal with facilities services firm OCS
Azzurri Communications has bagged another seven-figure unified communications (UC) win, this time with facilities services giant OCS.
The three-year, £5m deal covers the design, implementation and management of a UC solution, which includes technology from Avaya and Telefonica O2.
Azzurri's chief executive recently argued that UC had finally reached tipping point following several UC wins with big names such as Hastings and Liverpool Victoria, the Bank of England and Hollistor.
Azzurri said the contract with OCS will enable the 30,000-strong firm to slash its comms spend by 30 per cent over the next three years. The solution will integrate OCS's existing data networks with a centralised and hosted VoIP network.
OCS ICT director, Jenny Sener, said: "We believe that a consolidated, managed platform delivered by one primary supplier provides the leverage for delivering economies of scale for major UC implementations."
Martin Flick, director of mobility and converged solutions for Azzurri said: "OCS wanted a partner who could match their ambitions and we're delighted to be working with them on this ground-breaking project.
"Our 11 years of experience as an independent provider of all of the core communications disciplines gives us a significant advantage over newer entrants into the converged telecoms market."
