KCOM eyes PSN glory after solid Q3
Comms integration group gets ready for public sector assault
Comms provider KCOM Group cited a strong pipeline as its reason for optimism in an upbeat interim management statement.
The Hull-based firm claims sales in its third fiscal quarter were in line with market expectations. The company added that the three months to the end of December brought "a strengthened multi-year order backlog".
The standout contract win of the quarter was a deal, won by the company's Kcom division, to design and deploy the public sector network (PSN) of Staffordshire County Council. Other big wins in Q3 included an applications integration project for Virgin Atlantic Airlines and the extension of a managed services deal with Admiral Insurance.
KCOM claims the rollout of more PSNs will provided some of its biggest opportunities in Q4 and beyond.
Executive chairman Bill Halbert said: "Recent customer wins in Kcom and Smart421 and the introduction of new services within KC demonstrate our increasing strength and competitiveness in our chosen markets. Our ability to build strong relationships and help our customers exploit the power of communications to deliver tangible benefits underpin our positive outlook for future years."
