Software vendor assures partners that direct cloud move is short-term
FrontRange Solutions has assured partners the direct-touch model in place for its new cloud-based product is a short-term fix.
The software vendor has unveiled the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) version of its IT Service Management (ITSM) product - the first of many products it plans to roll out under the FrontRange SaaSIT banner, which will consist of cloud-based versions of its on-premise software.
Ian McEwan, EMEA vice president at FrontRange, said: "We have a huge install base of clients using our on-premise software that want to lower their operational expenditures by moving to the cloud.
"We are in a unique position with our portfolio to help end users that want to stay put and those that want to make the move."
The SaaS version of ITSM will only be available to FrontRange's direct sales force initially, but will be pushed out to partners in due course, said McEwan.
"While we are in the early adoption phase, we will take that business direct until we have established a model that generates revenue for us and our partners," he said.
"We must not cut partners out of the loop because 65 per cent of customers come through them."
