Distributor and vendor join forces for unified storage push

Storage vendor Pillar Data Systems has appointed distributor TDAzlan to drive sales of its Axiom product line in the UK.

The vendor has tasked TDAzlan, part of the Tech Data group, with recruiting partners to push its unified storage offering, Axiom 600, to the hosting, gaming and financial services industries.

Jonathan Hebbes, NEMEA regional director at Pillar, said: "We are confident that the agreement will not only enable us to enhance our network of specialist resellers, but also strengthen our position across all markets, especially hosting, managed services, financial services and gaming."

Mark Walker, director of converged infrastructure at Azlan, said consolidation in the storage industry is prompting resellers to seek out alternative vendors.

"Resellers want a differentiated data management proposition to meet the new compliance and regulatory requirements of customers who demand that no performance degradation is experienced in the infrastructure," he said.
