Updated: EMC nabs Giddins as EMEA distribution head
Former Nortel and Brocade channel exec joins storage giant to drive mid-market push
Recently departed Brocade exeuctive Amanda Giddins has popped up at storage vendor EMC as EMEA distribution manager, ChannelWeb has learnt.
Giddins (pictured) left her post at as EMEA channel chief at Brocade four months ago. She joined the firm in 2009, following a nine-year stint as EMEA distribution director of fallen vendor Nortel.
EMC issued a statement indicating Giddins will be instrumental in helping the vendor's mid-market push.
"Amanda has gained over 15 years experience working with distribution and indirect channels across EMEA at leading IT vendors," said the statement. "Prior to joining EMC, Amanda was responsible for setting up the channel business in EMEA for Brocade Communications.
"Her appointment strengthens the partner team as EMC continues to develop a consistent strategy for distribution and indirect partner recruitment and enablement. With EMC's recent launch of VNX/VNXe, the mid-market represents a large opportunity for our distributor community. EMC looks forward to working with Amanda to help support and optimise our growing channel programme and drive into the mid-market."
