C2000 builds on Tech Select

Distribution giant planning to attract more vendors and resellers to help their businesses grow

Computer 2000 (C2000) plans to ramp up its Tech Select channel development initiative this year to ensure resellers and vendors are better connected.

The distribution giant’s scheme aims to bridge the gap between vendor development programmes and resellers that are looking to grow.

Last year the initiative involved vendors such as Microsoft, Cisco and Symantec, and C2000 is aiming to bring more on board in 2011. On the reseller side, C2000 claims the scheme helps resellers sharpen their competitive edge and speed up growth in emerging markets.

VARs suited to specific Tech Select programmes are identified by C2000 and invited to join.

They are then supported through the whole life cycle of education, accreditation, marketing, lead-generation and fulfilment, working closely with C2000’s business development managers.

Andy Dow, group marketing director at C2000, said: “Tech Select is both innovative and pragmatic. It maximises the investments of both the vendor and the reseller, enabling us to make optimum use of the technical, sales and marketing expertise that we possess to drive new business for our partners.

“We’re now making additional investment and putting dedicated resources in place to build on and emulate that success for more of our vendor and reseller partners.”
