Circle IT toasts 2010 success

Cardiff-based VAR reports rise in sales

VAR Circle IT has cited a slew of new contract wins as the driving force behind its revenue during 2010.

The Cardiff-based firm, which has high-level accreditations with Microsoft, Dell and VMware, saw its turnover rise 27 per cent to £2.4m last year.

Hardware and software revenues were up 37 per cent in 2010, maintenance revenue rose 13 per cent, while its virtualisation and disaster recovery revenue grew by 178 per cent.

The company recently clinched a three-year managed services contract worth more than £100,000 with Cardiff City Football Club.

Roger Harry, managing director of Circle IT, said this deal – along with several others it secured last year – had been a key growth driver.

He said: "In the last quarter of 2010 we did a record £800,000 worth of sales and signed up nine new clients. Since then we have seen a steady rise in new business from big and small companies throughout the UK.

"Our business is getting stronger, and the influx of new contracts has allowed us to expand our management team and the services that we are able to offer."
