SCC pins on Apple SI badge

Firm becomes the first Apple Authorised systems integrator in the UK as march towards consumerisation continues

SCC has become the first Apple partner in the UK to gain Authorised systems integrator status.

The accolade comes less than a month after the firm bagged Authorised Reseller status with the technology giant.

To gain the certification, SCC had to undergo a stringent review process and the badge reflects the technology firm’s expertise in the fields of virtualisation, unified communications and optimisation of the IT infrastructure.

Rhys Sharp, chief technology officer at SCC, said: “One of the biggest issues facing business leaders today is how to respond to the fast-growing trend for users to bring web-enabled gadgets such as laptops, smartphones and iPads into the workplace.

“It’s a movement that has gained real critical mass, and one that made introducing Apple’s range of consumer technologies into [SCC’s] customer solutions and services array a natural and obvious step.”

Sharp said the corporate use of Apple devices is growing parallel to the consumerisation phenomenon, as is growing demand for an alternative form factor to the PC.

“As a systems integrator, we needed to ensure that we remain best placed to ensure devices are deployed correctly, securely and appropriately,” he added.

Andy Wright, director of vendor alliances at SCC, said: “Technologies such as those from Apple are part of our everyday life and SCC is committed to working closely with customers to help them create competitive advantage from these emerging new platforms and solutions.”
