Danish Cisco gold partner Conscia today announced its second acquisition of 2024 with the buyout of PlanNet21 Group.

The deal includes PlanNet21 Communications Ltd, Agile Networks Ltd, and eCom Solutions Ltd.

The deal marks Conscia’s 20th acquisition in eight European geographies and fourth takeover of 2024 following its ITGL buyout in February, Swedish Splunk specialist Siemify in March, and Kanari Group in September.

Founded in 1998, PlanNet21 is a privately owned technology solutions provider with headquarters in Dublin, Ireland and regional offices across Cork, Galway, Belfast, and Edinburgh.

Throughout its 20-year history, PlanNet21 has formed technology partnerships with vendor heavyweights including Cisco, Palo Alto Networks, HPE Aruba, Juniper, Nutanix, and IBM.

It boasts 300 customers in the public sector and enterprises, primarily within the technology, media, telecom and government sectors.

PlanNet21 posted 2022/23 revenues of around €70m and has a headcount of 200 people.

The addition of PlanNet21 brings Conscia’s revenues to €700m (2022/23) and a headcount of more than 1,400.

The newly bought group has eight core solutions and service offerings with advanced industry specialisations across enterprise networks, security, cloud, datacentre, unified communications and collaboration as well as contact centre services and software development solutions.

Conscia CEO Erik Bertman tells CRN it was these core solutions that drew him to PlanNet21.

“It was both the strong market position and an unparalleled match of technology core areas and deep technical competencies in cybersecurity and network between the two groups,” he explains.

For PlanNet21, the deal provides opportunities from wider European markets.

“With Conscia we can accelerate our development through enhanced customer offerings and a pan-European presence,” says PlanNet21 Group CEO Peter Carroll

“They bring financial strength and scale in networking competencies, and their edge as a cybersecurity leader with award-winning services and solutions coupled with data insights through their platforms for managed detection and response and security information and event management makes them an attractive owner for us.”

Carroll will continue as CEO of PlanNet21 Group and enter Conscia’s group leadership team as country manager for Ireland, reporting to Bertman.
